Whether you’re aspiring to conquer Mt. Everest or you just want to spice up your workout routine, Scroggs Peak and Brewer Butte are great places to start.
Scroggs Peak is a 35.5-foot climbing tower that rises through the Jungle Gym level of the complex. Scroggs Peak offers five different climbing courses that challenge both beginners and the most advanced climbers. Last semester, members had the opportunity to get more acquainted with MizzouRec’s three-story rock wall through the Climbing 101, Coached Climbing and Lead Climbing courses. The King of Yosemite Challenge also made its debut last spring and members competed against each other to complete the most climbs over the course of the semester.
Access to Scroggs Peak can be obtained by purchasing a climbing pass for $39 per calendar year, but members can try out the facility at no cost during Climbing Free Week, which is August 25-29. If you are looking for a unique and exciting party idea, the wall can be rented on the weekends upon request.
