Weight Equipment Upgrade!
June 26, 2012 | File under FacilitiesMuch of the new Fitness equipment has arrived! You, our members, have taken a great interest in all of the activity so we want to share with you what has occurred, what is left to be done, and why we are changing.
A new 13 station circuit of cable-based Free Motion equipment has been installed in the Jungle Gym next to the windows overlooking the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The Nautilus Nitro lines of selectorized equipment have been combined into one single and complete 17 station line, and arranged in the center of the Jungle Gym (where the Flex equipment used to be).
To compliment the Pump Room, the free weight equipment in the Jungle Gym has been moved to the Quiet Room - along with additional new free weight equipment - to create a second free weight room. By doing so we have increased space for this much-used exercise form by 42%.
The balcony at track level which overlooks Brewer Fieldhouse has also been renovated. The Human Sport line (previously in the Quiet Room) now resides on the balcony. For core exercise routines - which have been growing in popularity - a new dual-cable crossover machine has been added, along with kettle bells, medicine balls, and individual mats with wall storage mounts. New sit-up boards, a 45 degree hyperextension station, and chin/dip/pull-up stations have been added as well.
This week, when our Nautilus gear arrives, we will complete the addition of new equipment; more sit-up boards, utility benches, leg machines, a squat rack for the Quiet and Pump Rooms, and an 8 station express circuit of Nautilus ONE machines in the space where free weights were in the Jungle Gym.
